MASHABLE ATTEMPTS TO TAKE DOWN JIMMY KIMMEL AND FAILS

YOU MAD BRO?

It looks like Jimmy Kimmel wins again as entertainment weblog Mashable cracks from frustration and writes an "open letter" to the comedian. The article written by Mashable's list editor Christine Erickson comes only a day after their web culture intern Brian Koerber attempted to expose Kimmel for not being honest about his viral videos. Koerber's post ends with "Additional reporting by Christine Erickson." below the article leading us to believe the list editor for the popular weblog may be pulling some seriously biased strings.

In the open letter, Erickson admits Kimmel fooled her a couple times, even siting the articles she posted covering the viral vids. Die-hard Mashable fans and affiliates to the weblog tweeted, retweeted, favorited and did all they could to stir some kind of support for the attack on Kimmel, but not everyone was so quick to grab their torches and pick forks.

The "open letter" immediately received backlash in the comment section as floods of attacks on the list editor came rushing in. So what side are you on? Has Jimmy Kimmel gone too far with his viral videos? Is creating fake viral videos really doing harm to the internet? Is Jimmy Fallon behind the Mashable attack? After all, Kimmel did just recently mention Fallon in the latest Esquire saying "My only complaint about Jimmy Fallon is the first name: Jimmy."
