FORMER GOOGLE EMPLOYEES LAUNCH "BEEP"

Hit or miss?

Two former employees of Google launched a new product called "Beep". What this product does is allow you to play music via Pandora through any speaker, allowing wireless controlling through your phone. The launch video seems pretty convincing, but who is going to buy it? Would you?

How many people do you know who really invest in this kind of technology? Most people have their home PC's or Mac's hooked up to a stereo system and stream music offline. Others simply plug their phone into speakers, so where does this product really fit in?

For us to go out and buy a product we have to feel the need for it. With Beep we're just not there yet. The video is pretty interesting, but we're not entirely convinced it's a purchase we won't regret later. It comes across as a product you'd see in a Sharper Image or SkyMall. Let us know how you feel about it. Is it something that you're going to buy? At this time, we think we're going to pass.
